Everything you need know about Nearpod
In this blog, we will take a deeper look at Nearpod and how it can contribute to the betterment of the students' learning experience.

Whether a lesson is taught in a physical classroom or online, Nearpod can help teachers make it interactive. The idea is basic. A teacher can design interactive presentations that include polls, collaborative whiteboards, videos, quizzes, and more. With Nearpod in the classroom, you may upload your own interactive lessons or choose from thousands of prepackaged K–12 standards-aligned modules. With all the interactive tools, materials, and information teachers require in one location, Nearpod simplifies teaching.

STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES
Now we will address the strengths and weaknesses of Nearpod that would affect the classroom.
Let us start with.....the strengths of Nearpod
Nearpod provides many solutions on a single platform. You can make slide-based classes or videos with interactive activities and assessments included. Students can follow along on their own devices, while the teacher has real-time access to their responses.
You can use Nearpod to guarantee that all students are on task and participating. While the teacher encourages class discussion, students can feel comfortable replying to questions online. Students can contribute replies by typing, selecting photos, or recording voice recordings.
The benefits of Nearpod as the advantages of using technology in the classroom would allow teachers to identify which student requires assistance and which topics require more attention.
Next.....the weaknesses of Nearpod
One important drawback of Nearpod is that each student must have his or her own device. This could be difficult for schools with limited access to technology.
Depending on how you utilize it, it may overemphasize individual student comments rather than small group conversations.
Many of the activities are test-driven (quizzes, multiple-choice, etc.) rather than focused on reflection on learning or a creative presentation of learning.
Presentation creation and modification can be time-consuming.
Final Thoughts
Nearpod, in my opinion, can be used effectively or ineffectively. I plan to continue experimenting with Nearpod and utilize it with purpose in ways that match with my pedagogical ideas. It has the potential to be a terrific tool for improving cooperation and discussion, giving students options in how they communicate their thoughts, checking for understanding, and combining/organizing course resources.
I found that the workshop was extremely informative on the technological tool of Nearpod. The use of Nearpod can make a classroom greatly interactive and fun. The students can find it enjoyable to transverse in the digital wonderland to gain knowledge and further understanding.
After attending the workshop I tried using the tool in my classroom. The students responded well and were very enthusiastic. I found that it was useful even to those weaker students.
Colleagues, I am very proud of you for trying out Nearpod. Remember we have a premium plus package and therefore you may experiment with many more resources within the website. As for my classes my students particularly like the Time to Climb activity. They respond very well to it and I find it as a good way to assess if students have grasped certain content areas.
It is vitally important that the students are able to interact with a tool that is easy to use and manipulate. Although technology is more interactive, it can still be expensive to use and in some cases difficult to understand. Nearpod is provided by the Ministry of Education so the expense is not on the teachers. Therefore, it is more manageable when the payment is not an issue.
I found that Nearpod is an excellent educational tool and the students can benefit greatly from the workshop. The features that were explored can give new life to the classroom.
The live participation of students I find that the children concentrate well and allows me to observe the amount of knowledge they have grasped so far. They like that they can see results instantly as well. Oral discussion of content is often discussed excitedly.
Another great feature of Nearpod that I love is Nearpod gives us teachers opportunities to provide immediate feedback. Students can ask questions in the moment or take notes to strengthen their understanding of the content.
